Field Training (CO-OP Training Field)

The Nile Higher Institute for Engineering and Technology in Mansoura is keen to meet the needs of the engineering labor market, both internally in Egypt and externally in Arab and foreign countries through three engineering programs for a bachelor's degree in engineering in Communication and Electronics Engineering, civil engineering and architecture programs. Perhaps one of the most important factors affecting the level of the graduate and his suitability for the labor market is the preparation of distinguished training programs that directly contribute to the weight of the student's experiences and prepare him in an effective way to join the labor market after graduation.

In general, there are two types of training that a student can join: internal training, which takes place within the Institute's laboratories and under the full supervision of the Institute, and field (external) training, which takes place in external training companies and sectors. The training programs, especially the external ones, which take place in the external training agencies, help in direct contact between the student and the employers, which ensures the transfer of practical experiences that are difficult to acquire in the institute's laboratories, which ensures a distinguished graduate who is able to keep pace with the continuous development in employment requirements in the engineering sector.

The Institute is keen to develop internal training mechanisms through continuous development in the Institute's laboratories, as well as the preparation of good training programs, which serve what is taught in the various specialized courses. The institute contains a unit for engineering consulting, which offers wonderful training opportunities and enables students to interact effectively with the labor market by participating in the free engineering consultations that the unit undertakes, whether internal consultations (within the institute) or external consultations.

The institute also seeks to attract many experienced engineers to participate in the internal training at the institute to match between the contents of the training courses to the external work environment. On the other hand, the institute is keen on continuous communication with external training sectors and companies, especially the distinguished ones, and the conclusion of many cooperation protocols, which guarantees the best opportunities for training students and enhancing their practical skills in line with the needs of the labor market and the continuous development in the engineering sector.

Field Training Objectives

A. Internal Field Training

Its main objective is to refine the information and knowledge that the student received, which includes many concepts and basic knowledge related to the institute, as well as various engineering programs such as (AUTOCAD, MATLAB, CCNA, 3D MAX..etc). The student is also equipped for the needs of the labor market through courses in structural engineering and courses in surveying for students of the Department of Civil Engineering. As for students of the Department of Architectural Engineering, the department conducts workshops and lectures on architectural design and the accompanying field research, with regard to students of the Department of Communication and Electronics Engineering. They are trained on electrical designs and installations, as well as training courses on programming and electronics principles.

B. External Field Training

It is considered as the gateway to the world and the external environment, which in turn allows the student to interact directly and effectively with the environment in which he is likely to work after his graduation. The objectives of external training can be summarized in the following points:

  • Giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience and training before graduation - where the student is given the opportunity to get acquainted with the work environment in which he is expected to work after graduation.
  • Deepening students' understanding of the theoretical sciences they received in their field of specialization.
  • Familiarity with the obstacles and difficulties in the workplace and knowing how to face them.
  • Practicing applied work in the work sector, which is complemented by a course in the educational process.
  • Identifying the supplies and equipment in the work sites, and linking that to what is learned in the institute.
  • Giving the student the opportunity to get acquainted with the different employers, which enables him to choose the appropriate employer for him after graduation.
  • Giving the Institute a clear idea of the need of the labor market and its various requirements, which will reflect positively on the Institute in terms of developing programs based on the suggestions received by the faculty members supervising the training of students.
  • Students are accustomed to taking responsibility and adhering to deadlines.
  • Students get used to dealing with community members outside the institute.
  • Students get used to respecting others and listening to their opinions.
  • Provide an opportunity for companies to evaluate the performance of the student during the training period and find out the extent to which he is benefiting and employing him after his graduation.
  • Cooperation Protocols between the Institute and Telecommunications, Electricity and Renewable Energy Companies

  • Telecom Egypt.
  • North Delta Electricity Distribution Company.
  • Talkha Electricity Company.
  • Spark Academy for cooperation and training in the field of electronics and communications.
  • Delta Factory for Fertilizers and Chemical Industries.
  • Cairo National Research Center.
  • The ITI Institute of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
  • Field Training Attachments

    Field Training and Follow-up

    1. Training in Talkha Electricity Company

The Electricity Company is the main supplier of electricity in Egypt, whereby students are trained on transformers, control systems, and methods of generating and distributing electricity.

    2. Training in Telecom Egypt (WE-Company)

Telecom Egypt is one of the most prominent national companies in the field of wired and wireless communications networks, and it is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The training sector within the company offers many practical training courses for the students of the program in areas related to the labor market, which gives the training an opportunity to develop practical skills in the field of specialization as well as keep abreast of developments and successive labor market requirements, which then creates many job opportunities for the student.

    3. Training in SPARK Academy

The Spark Academy is considered one of the companies specialized in electronics and robot programming, where students are trained to do industrial intelligence projects using Python, Embedded System and other languages.
