Program Graduation Requirements and Grading System

A. Graduation Requirements

Academic Counselors from the Office of Student Success meet with every student during the fall and spring semesters to assess their academic progress towards degree completion and provide guidance on which courses to take in the upcoming semester. These counselors utilize the Ibn Al-Haitham system for student affairs management (http://nile.mans.edu.eg/static/index.html). to track each student's degree completion status. When a student reaches their final semester of coursework for their chosen degree, they are required to apply for graduation through an online application process provided by the Institute. Once the application is submitted, the student's Academic Counselor conducts a degree check, which involves verifying if all degree requirements have been met, conducting a degree audit, and approving the application status. After the initial review by the Academic Counselor, a second Academic Counselor reviews the work. Subsequently, the applicant's degree check is sent to their department chair for further assessment. Towards the end of each semester, a list of degree applicants is sent to the faculty for a vote of approval. Once all parties involved have endorsed the degree check, a final review takes place after the final course grades for the student's last semester are entered. If all degree requirements are fulfilled, the dean will confer the Bachelor's degree. To understand the graduation requirements, please refer to Table 1, while provides the distribution of credit percentages for the AE program.
